
Kaitlyn Wildeus is a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychologist specializing in psychotherapy and psychological evaluations with children, adolescents, and young adults. She has experience working in both private practice and in acute, residential and inpatient care. Kaitlyn has a wealth of experience working with individuals, parents and families of all backgrounds and clinical needs. These needs have included depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, trauma, grief, reactive attachment, oppositional defiance, conduct concerns, and school-refusal. She is particularly passionate about working within the scope of ADHD, Autism, and LGBTQIA+ care. Kaitlyn operates from a trauma-informed and person-centered lens.
She primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and third-wave orientations, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). She has been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy – trauma focused (TF- CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and cognitive behavioral therapy – suicide prevention (CBT-SP). Additionally, she works from an internal family systems (IFS) lens that stresses the importance of being holistic and diversity-honoring in care. She also enjoys utilizing projective art therapy and child-centered play therapy when appropriate.
Kaitlyn received her bachelor of science degree in both psychology with a minor in forensic psychology and in criminology with a minor in criminal justice from George Mason University’s Honors College. She received her master’s degree and doctoral training in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. Outside of the office, you can find Kaitlyn watching television with her pets, hiking outdoors, cooking with her husband, or playing video/board games with her friends.
